Kite Surfing
If you're seeking an adrenaline-pumping experience on the water, come aboard Captain Sparrow's boat for an unforgettable kiting session. Prepare to be amazed as you soar above the wind!
Day 0
After your arrival at Hurghada Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to the Boat, which is located just 15 minutes away at Hurghada new marina. Upon reaching the marina, you can enjoy a refreshing welcome drink, followed by a delicious dinner on the boat. Rest well during the night, as we will be ready to depart early the next morning.
Day 1
In the early morning, we will head to Abou Mongar Island, considered to be one of the best kitesurfing spots in the Red Sea. This secluded beach offers a fantastic atmosphere away from crowded coasts and cities, with its expansive lagoon of crystal-clear shallow water. Here, your adventure begins as you jump over the sandbar or freestyle on the glass-like flat water. After a full day of kiting, you can relax on the main deck, savoring a well-deserved drink and enjoying the soothing melodies played by our musicians after sunset. While waiting for your meal, you can also view the videos and pictures from the day's session on our screens. We will spend the night in Abou Mongar, preparing for an early morning session.
Day 2
At 4 am, we will proceed to our second spot, Geisum Island, where we will spend the next four nights.
Day 3
We will dedicate the entire day to exploring Geisum. As we navigate between the islands during the northernmost part of our safari, you will have the opportunity to make the most of the perfect side shore wind. The clear water here allows you to easily spot dolphins gracefully gliding through. This unspoiled area is ideal for kayaking, snorkeling, and wakeboarding due to the calm and flat nature of the water.
Day 4
Before breakfast, we will embark on an exciting 10 km downwind ride to our next spot! Our rescue team and the boat will be there to ensure your safety. Starting with flat water, we will venture outside to catch some thrilling swells, providing an opportunity for impressive carving and high jumps. We will conclude the day's session back on Geisum, giving you the chance to explore any missed lagoons as the area is quite extensive. We will spend the night in Geisum.
Day 5
We will continue exploring Geisum and return to Abou Mongar by the end of the day to spend the night there.
Day 6
In the early morning, we will enjoy a ride on Abou Mongar island lagoon, providing an excellent opportunity for a final photo session. After kiting until midday, we will savor a hearty lunch before heading back to Hurghada. At the marina, we will clean and pack the gear. If you still have energy for more fun, we can venture out to one of the popular beach nightclubs in the area. We will spend one last night on the boat in the marina.
Day 7
It is time to bid farewell. After breakfast, we will disembark from the boat at 10 am. If you have a later flight, you can make the most of your time by enjoying some kiting spots in Hurghada or simply relaxing at a nearby beach until it is time to depart. PLEASE NOTE: The program may be subject to change due to flight schedules or wind conditions.
Kitesurfing Spots
Tawila
Tawila Island is an Egyptian island located north of the city of Hurghada in the Red Sea. Its area is approximately 20 km², and it is 17 km² away from El Gouna tourist resort. The island contains sandy beaches and very beautiful blue waters to see all the water features and masterpieces submerged under its surface, in addition to the presence of dolphin fish. that swim next to you on the beach.
North Geisum
The Geisum Islands offer an incredible kiting playground with numerous bays, peninsulas, and reef-protected lagoons with mostly offshore winds. There are three main spots on these two islands—all of them pristine and shallow. One of our favorite sessions from here is an epic three-hour downwinder from South Geisum to Tawila: we quest across the open sea before hugging the shallows of Tawila’s shoreline while the zodiacs follow behind. Downwinders don’t get much better than this!
Ashrafi
Ashrafi is the furthest north island in the archipelago and home to an absolute gem of the area: a massive waist-deep lagoon with reefs sheltering the water from the wind, resulting in dream-like perfection. The butter-smooth water and multi-kilometer size (plus the option of an upwinder to the lighthouse or a two-hour downwinder all the way to South Geisum) makes Ashrafi a kite-safari highlight for everyone from beginners to advanced riders. No cell reception, no WiFi, no crowds—Ashrafi is an idyllic adventure spot that is an exclusive of Dragonfly Kite Safaris.
Abu Minqar
The perfect spot for our final day of kiting, Abu Minqar is renowned for its low-tide sandbar that forms a perfect flatwater speed zone. Hug the sandbar and you can freeride rally the shallows like you’re in a video game! We will be close enough to see the lights of Hurghada at night but still completely isolated from the mainland, enjoying a final session at one of the very best kite spots on the Red Sea. Without a doubt, Abu Minqar is a fantastic finale to our weeklong kite safari!
